From Punkin’ Chunkin’ to Apple Tossin’ and Pumpkin Carving

In years past our tradition has been to build machines to launch pumpkins in our big field. This year we decided to mix it up a bit and changed the projectiles to apples. To increase the challenge and level the playing field some, each group was given an identical bag of supplies to create their launcher from. There was a slingshot, a few catapults, and a lever activated tossing machine!

In order to engage as many skill sets as possible we also added door decorating and pumpkin “carving” for each team to share their Halloween spirit. The entries for both were as varied as the teams; a personal favorite was the drooling pumpkin and my own tombstone citing head trauma from a lunch tray!

Proud of all of our participants!
